The Learning Classroom
A one day programme for all classroom teachers interested in updating their knowledge, skills and understanding about practical ways to improve the learning of all pupils.
Objectives:
• To share information from recent research into how the human brain works and learns
• To consider how research into and knowledge about learning can be used practically in the classroom to improve engagement and attainment
• To reinforce the links between learning, creativity and self-esteem
• To identify how a school can further develop a learning focus
The programme will focus on the following key areas:
• learning styles and preferences;
• multiple intelligences;
• the emotional classroom climate;
• assessing for learning approaches;
• ideas for brain gym and thinking skills;
• practical ways of developing creativity; and
• ways of engaging and challenging all learners.
This programme provides the opportunity for teachers to explore ways of improving the climate for learning in their classroom. Drawing on excellent, practical and realistic approaches it will inspire and motivate teachers to engage their learners creatively and improve attainment.
